Open Days are a great way for prospective applicants to experience IESE and see if we are the right fit for you. Depending on the campus and format it usually consists of an Overview of the Program, Case Study Class and Alumni Panel. For those considering the program, we highly recommend attending an Open Day to gain deeper insights about the case study teaching methodology and culture of IESE

THE CASE METHOD

At IESE we use the Case Method whenever it can be used because we find it to be the most effective way to leverage each classroom’s immense diversity.

After individual preparation, students work in teams to analyze, discuss and propose solutions to hundreds of different business problems drawn from real-life scenarios. The approach opens up a forum where students discover new perspectives and broaden their understanding of key issues. Most importantly, this intense and challenging method means that students learn to make business decisions and take action by thinking, arguing and defending their interpretations and recommendations against a multitude of equally plausible solutions.

HOW IT WORKS

Individual PresentationRead the case, build opinions and set recommendations after qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Meet in TeamsMeet in small groups before class to discuss the case and fine-tune or change opinions.

Class DiscussionProfessors guide the discussion, asking questions to enrich the discussion with contrasting viewpoint from different industry experiences and cultural backgrounds.
